Police are hunting down the arsonist believed to have been responsible for lighting the worst of the Victoria fires.
Police have confirmed that they believe they know the identity of the man who lit the devastating Delburn Complex, at Churchill, killing at least 70 people, destroying more than 29 houses and 6.000 hectares.
It's expected police will release an image in the next couple of days of a man sought for questioning over the fires.
Detective Sergeant Brett Kahan said they will soon be in a position to provide images of people they believe to be responsible for the fires.
The department has created the "Task Force Phoenix" with about a hundred policemen investigating the Victorian fires.
